Basil Harrison

Master at "putting out fires" and keeping the flames bright and sparkly

Basil is Spark Energy's boiler technician. Basil grew up in Purakanui and after some years working and travelling returned to Dunedin to study mechanical engineering at Otago Polytechnic.  During the course of his studies, he developed an interest in all matters wood heating and did some experimentation with building his own wood stoves.  He is now excited to be working with highly sophisticated automated wood fired heating systems supporting the local economy.  When he's not busy with boilers or his 1-year old son, he enjoys surfing, working in the garden and the odd tramping trip.

Andrew Dyck

Our very own boiler whisperer

Andrew is our lead boiler commissioning engineer.  Born in New Zealand yet having spent most of his life in Canada, Andrew recently relocated back to New Zealand having worked for many years for a leading KOB boiler reseller in Canada, Fink Machine.  With a background in computer engineering and well over 50 wood boiler installations under his belt, Andrew can talk relays, grate speed and the three T's of combustion (ask him the question...) from dawn to sunset.

Sharon Gower

Office supremo extra-ordinaire

Sharon is the centre-point of all paperwork and information flows around Spark Energy's office, making sense of the plethora of weigh bridge receipts, water content readings and hydraulic hose invoices that arrive in our inbox.  Once the shining light of a ski resort guest services team, Sharon is as skilled in helping our chip production team optimise truck scheduling efficiency as she is at wading through piles of latte receipts from a certain other office worker.

Eduard Ebbinge

Wood energy story teller

Eduard leads the Spark Energy team, racing around the country to spread the good word on all things wood energy and, once things get underway for wood energy adopters, taking charge of making sure results will match up to expectations.
